John E. Haywood, 31, of Hayes, died unexpectedly Oct. 21, 2012 from drowning.

John loved life and challenges, and could work out any difficulties he may have had experienced in his life. In the short time he was here he thoroughly enjoyed every day. He enjoyed cooking, watching the weather channel and wrestling. He was an excellent athlete and loved all physical activities.

He was kindhearted and well liked by everyone that met him. His unique personality and wonderful smile was a joy to be around. He was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carlton “Bubby” E. Haywood.

He is survived by mother, Linda Sue Petrell and fiancé Jimmy Keeton; brothers, Joseph W. “Joey” Haywood and fiancée Elvia Rodriquez, Aaron Haywood; sister, Amber Warren; niece, Anabel Haywood; maternal grandmother, Linda L. Allred and husband Michael; maternal grandfather, Edward R. Gregory Sr. and wife Monique, and a host of aunts, uncles and other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Union Baptist Church, Achilles, with the Rev. Richard Whiteheart officiating. Inurnment will be private.
