John Alfred Robins, 61, of Hayes, died Oct. 10, 2017 at his home.

He was born Sept. 13, 1956 to William H. (Billy) and Dorothy B. Robins. 

Johnny, as he was known to family and friends, was a master carpenter, bowler, NASCAR enthusiast, and Atlanta Braves baseball fan. He was a friend to many and his friendship will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Johnny is survived by his son, Jason Robins and his wife Lindsay; his granddaughter, Lyza; brothers, Martin Robins (Beverly) and Thomas Robins (Rita); his best friend and soulmate, Tammy Shackelford, and his loveable cats, Baby and Newman.

A memorial service conducted by the Rev. Bill West will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at Severn Church, 9066 Robins Neck Road, Gloucester, with family visitation and fellowship to follow in the Church Social Hall. Inurnment will be private.

Johnny was an animal lover and his family desires for contributions in his memory be made to the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, P.O. Box 385, Gloucester, Va. 23061.
