JOE M. ROGERS

Joe M. Rogers, 77, of Gloucester, died July 27, 2012 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.
 
Joe was a native of West Virginia, served for 20 years in the United States Army, having received numerous medals including the National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Civil Actions Honor Medal, Paratrooper Badge, Korean Service Medal and European Occupation Army Medal. 
 
After retirement he worked as a mechanic for the Gloucester Transportation Department. He enjoyed fishing, both salt and freshwater, boating, and John Wayne movies.
 
Joe will be greatly missed.
 
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Elke Rogers; sons, Joe M. Rogers Jr., Thorsten “Bobby” Juelicher and wife Kelly; daughter, Kerstin Collins; grandchildren, Jesse, Justin, Nikole, Shawn, Kelsey and Tiffany; great- granddaughter, Allison, and his faithful canines, Mikey and Cujo.
 
Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Robert McTurnal will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment with military honors will follow at Windsor Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 1-1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
