A Celebration of Life service will be held for Joe Kennith Owens Sr., 84, of Gloucester, at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Charlottesville. He died Aug. 25, 2021 at VCU Medical Center in Richmond.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce R. Owens; son, Joe K Owens Jr.; daughter, Mary J. Cosby; three grandchildren; a stepgrandson; his parents, Lonnie Calvin Owens and F. Jeanette Garrett Monfalcone; two brothers, Lonnie F. Owens, and R. David Owens.

Survivors include children, Joann K. Vann, John K. Owens, Janet K. Brazeal, J. Kristy Owens, J. Kimberly Martinez; stepchildren, Jeffrey R. Parker, Linda R. Williams, and Pamela J. Mullins; brother, A. Randy Owens; 26 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

A meal will follow the service. All attending will have an opportunity to share memories/stories/feelings about Joe.
