Joan Heaney passed away in Richmond, Virginia, on August 24, 2016.

Joan was raised in East Hampton, New York, lived in Wappingers Falls, New York, while raising her family and

moved to Hayes, Virginia, in 2002 with her late husband Bill.

Joan was an avid reader, quilter and a mean bridge player. Joan left behind beautiful quilt heirlooms that her family will treasure for years to come.

Joan is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Heaney and Jane Kelly, and sons, William Heaney and Sean Heaney.

The family will conduct a private memorial service.
