Joan Beverly Minerve peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, at Walter Reed Convalescent Center in Gloucester.
Joan was born in Westchester, New York, on Aug. 26, 1932 to the late Lawrence and Muriel Reaster.
She retired from Children’s Village, Westchester, New York, and moved to Gloucester County, where she became a member of the First United Baptist Church, fully immersing herself in the Lord’s service.
In addition to her parents; husband, Harold Minerve Sr.; brother, Donald Reaster Jr.; son, Jeffrey Minerve; daughter, Robin Minerve preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, daughter, Marchelle Minerve (Irving); five sons, Harold Minerve Jr., (Alice) of Georgia, Gary W. Minerve Sr. (Sylvia) of Gloucester, James Minerve of Texas, Usamah Muhammed of New York, Darryl Minerve (Tanya) of Maryland; 29 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Joan will truly be missed.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, at the First United Baptist Church, 6188 George Washington Memorial Highway, Gloucester, Va. 23061. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, an hour before the service. Interment will be held in the church cemetery, followed by repast in the fellowship hall.
