Jimmie H. Carroll, age 77, of Mathews, passed away peacefully on Feb. 2, 2018. 

Jimmie was born in Vardaman, Mississippi, on April 22, 1940. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Hayes Carroll, and his mother, Eleanor Suzanne Boyd, and his sister, Donna Carroll Pell.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Joyce Minter Carroll; his three children, Jimmie Carroll Jr., Charlene Carroll (Jessie), and Beverly Ferguson (Matt); grandchildren, Mandie Jacobs (Matt), Travis Carroll, Mason Ferguson and McCoy Ferguson; siblings, Grace Nowitsky, Jewel Anne Deadrick (Mike), Linda Carroll Wright (Glynn); a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and many friends.

A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Jimmie was the successful owner of J.H. Carroll Heating and Air Conditioning in Richmond for 33 years. He was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman, knife maker and “jack of all trades” and was an amazing man that touched many lives. 

The family will receive friends on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, 160 Main Street, Mathews, Va. 23109. A private family service will be held at a later date.
