Suffolk artist Denise Bush is the December Artist of the Month at the Bay School Community Arts Center in Mathews.
Bush, who calls herself a “serial crafter,” became immersed in jewelry making after leaving the U.S. Navy. Her grandma Zoa started “that crafting bug” by teaching her to embroider before she could even write, a release said.
Since the jewelry bug bit her, she has spent time exploring and perfecting her creative techniques and now creates jewelry that incorporates delicate flowers from her garden and other intricate designs that use anything she can find, from botanicals to vintage buttons.
