Jessie Margaret Perdue, 65, of Gloucester, went home to be with her precious Saviour on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015.

She was born Dec. 31, 1949 in Danese, W.Va., to the late Egan and Zella Shuck. Jessie was a descendant of Meriwether Lewis of the Lewis and Clark expedition. She was a member of Rock Church, Hayes, and a lifelong Christian with unwavering faith and love for her Lord. Jessie’s kind spirit and loving nature will be missed by all who knew her.

Along with her parents, Jessie was preceded in death by her brothers, Norman Shuck, Tommy Shuck, John Shuck, Lloyd Shuck, and her sisters, Maxine Shuck Wohlscheid and Judy Shuck Rodriguez.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Larry A. Perdue; daughter, Margaret A. Carden; beloved son, David A. Perdue; sister, Blanche Brinegar; sisters-in-law, Libby Shuck and Soon Ja Shuck, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Inurnment will be in West Virginia at a later date. The family received friends prior to the service on Sunday from 1:30-2:30 at the funeral home.
