Jene M. McCartin, 61, of Saluda, passed away Jan. 1, 2016 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital with family by her side.

Jene will be remembered for her smile, her warmth, her energy, her love for life, family and friends. She loved to spend time outside gardening, watching her birds, spoiling her dogs, and truly adored her grandchildren.

She worked very hard all her life, up until the very end. She made a difference in the lives of many. Jene was an amazingly strong woman who battled cancer ’til the very end. 

She was a loving mother and is survived by her sons, John McCartin and wife Jaime, and Joseph McCartin and wife Kristy; four grandchildren, Austin, Abigail, Mackenzie and L.J.
