Jefferson Lab presents ‘Scientist Walks into a Bar’ program Sept. 13

The Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility—known locally as Jefferson Lab—will hold its third “Scientist Walks into a Bar” program from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at Coastal Fermentory, 206 23rd Street, in downtown Newport News.

Free and open to the public, the event will highlight how accelerators are emerging as a new tool for medical diagnosis and treatment. The interactive discussion will be moderated by Todd Satogata, a senior scientist at Jefferson Lab and a professor at ODU.

Proceeds from this event will benefit Here for the Girls, a non-profit organization dedicated to young women diagnosed with breast cancer, as part of Coastal Fermentory’s weekly Drink Beer and Do Good initiative.
