Jeanette Robins Hurst, 83, of Moon, Virginia, left her earthly home on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017 with her family by her side.  

She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Diggs, Virginia.  Jeanette worked as an agent for Mathews Insurance Agency for 48 years.  

Jeanette was born on Nov. 5, 1933 to the late Roger and Estelle Robins of Perrin, Virginia. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, James and Billy Robins, and her beloved husband, David Hurst. 

She is survived by her children Mike (Dianne), Steve (Robin), Robin (Mark), Pam (Mike), and Brenda (Jimmy Dean); grandchildren, Michael (Tasha), Matthew (Mary), Stacie (Ricky), Amanda, Ben (Leah), Christopher (Kristin), Sarah, David (Krysta), Andrea, Rachel, Aubrey, and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Michael, Austen, Mckinley, Dalton, and Lydia.  

Jeanette was loved by all who met her and lived a life of service to her family, extended family of nieces and nephews, and friends. Many years of laughs and memories have been shared with her dearest friends, Ruby Ingram, Phyllis Buchanan, and Faye Hutchinson.

The family would like to express their sincerest appreciation to Sharon Singleton for the love and wonderful care given during her final months.  

The family received friends on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017 at Salem United Methodist Church, 1099 Salem Church Road, from 5-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017 at Salem Church at 1 p.m.

Jeanette will always be remembered for her warm heart, loving hugs, and joyful laughter.
