JEANETTE ELIZABETH GILL

Jeanette Elizabeth Gill passed away at Walter Reed Convalescent Center on Sept. 23, 2011. She was 89 years old, and had suffered from dementia for several years.

She was born in Gloucester and resided in Ware Neck. She was an accomplished craft person and ran a business out of her home weaving chair seats and making hooked rugs. Some of her work is displayed in Colonial Williamsburg where she worked briefly and at Stratford Hall.

Mrs. Gill was a member of Singleton United Methodist Church where she was active in the Sunday school, the Willing Workers Class, and the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by a daughter, Betsy Crozier; a son-in-law, Colin Crozier; two grandchildren, Monica and David, as well as two sisters, Marge Fischer and Doris Buch, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Gill, who died in 1991.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-5:30 p.m. Funeral services were held on Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at 2 p.m. in Singleton United Methodist Church by the Rev. Calvin Griffin. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, was in charge of arrangements.
