Jarvis earns top athletic award at Randolph-Macon

Sharese Jarvis, a senior at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, has received the Susan Locke de Nagy Award recognizing her “outstanding athletic accomplishments, leadership and sportsmanship” as a member of the softball team.

She will graduate as the “most decorated player in program history,” according to her award. A 2011 graduate of Mathews High School, Jarvis tops five career lists at R-MC: tied for home runs with 38; doubles, games played, hits and runs batted in.

As a sophomore, Jarvis pounded 17 homers. She has been named to the first team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference three times, first team All-State and All-Atlantic region twice, participated in one ODAC championship, and played in the program’s first NCAA regional appearance.

Jarvis is a member of Delta Zeta, where she has been historian and chaplain; she was a student coordinator in the admissions office, and social media chair for the R-MC Poetry Slam.
