Jane May Grubb, 84, of Minneapolis, Minn., died May 16, 2016.

She was born May 1, 1932 in Mathews. After graduation from Mathews High School, she served in the U.S. Air Force as a Staff Sgt. She attended Radford University and received a B.S. degree from RPI (VCU) and Master’s from the University of Minnesota. She served as a social worker for schools in Washington State, St. Paul and Minneapolis for 29 years, guiding and molding the lives of multitudes of children. She demonstrated a genuine love for people and never knew a stranger. 

Preceded in death by her parents, Milton T. and Bettie Jane Grubb, and 10 siblings. She is survived by her lifelong friend, Kathleen Stuart.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4, in the Coventry Chapel of the Episcopal Church Home, St. Paul, Minn.
