A 47-year-old James Store resident died after a single-vehicle accident on Burkes Pond Road on Wednesday, Jan. 19. Catherine E. Creech was driving a 2001 Ford F-150 westbound on Burkes Pond Road around 10 p.m. when the truck ran off the road to the right, overcorrected, overturned and ejected the driver, according to state police spokesman Sgt. Michelle Anaya.

The accident occurred west of Dutton Road. Anaya said Creech was transported to Riverside Walter Reed Hospital where she died. She said Creech, who resided in the 10000 block of Burkes Pond Road, was not wearing a seatbelt.

This was the first traffic fatality of 2011 in Gloucester County.
