James Smith Sr. of Gloucester, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025.

Survivors include his wife, Karalean Smith; sons, James Smith Jr. and Richard Smith, and sisters, Mary Anna Davis, Alice, Lucy and Linda Smith.

Viewing was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, in Antioch Baptist Church, Susan. A funeral service followed in the church. Pastor Steven Forrest conducted the service and the Rev. Kevin Smith gave the eulogy. Burial was at Wayland Baptist Church Cemetery, Beaverlett.
