James Smith Sr. of Gloucester, a Mathews native, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025.

Survivors include his wife, Karalean Smith; sons, James Smith Jr. and Richard Smith, and sisters, Mary Anna Davis, Alice, Lucy and Linda Smith.

Arrangements are incomplete. Howard Funeral Home, Ark, is assisting the family.
