JAMES RICHARD FORD

James Richard Ford, 90, of Hudgins, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018.

He was born in Richmond, Virginia, and after serving in the Army worked for VEPCO where he retired after over 30 years as a Boiler Operator. 

Well after retirement, seeking serenity and escape from the stress of living in Norfolk, Jim and his wife Cindy moved to Hudgins. Jim was a faithful member of Redeeming Grace Baptist Church and served as a deacon and treasurer for many years.

James is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cindy B. Ford; two sisters, Alice Lee Owen of Falls Church, and Ethel Lyons of Richmond; niece, Brenda and Gary Hardison and family of Chesapeake; nephew, Herb Owen and family of Falls Church, and niece, Patty Sue Lyons of Richmond, along with many nephews and nieces of the Wright family of Richmond. 

The funeral service will be held at Redeeming Grace Baptist Church, Hudgins, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2018. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at H.C. Smithers Cemetery. A reception will follow after the burial at Redeeming Grace Baptist Church, Hudgins (8245 Buckley Hall Road), Va. 23076.
