It is with great sadness we announce the passing of James Michael Curro, 70, of Gloucester, Virginia, on Friday, July 18, 2025. A proud Air Force veteran, he later served 35 years with NASA performing various technical roles and eventually retiring as a Test Director earning various honors including NASA’s Exceptional Achievement Award. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; daughter, Maria; son-in-law, Michael; son, Kevin; daughter, Rebecca, and grandchildren, Alex, Catalina, and Febe. Born in Rome, N.Y., on Sept. 30, 1954 to James Andrew Curro and Barbara Myles Curro; a loving brother to Jon, Joe, Mary, and Ann. As a respected member of the Gloucester community, he leaves behind a legacy of love as big as his personality. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, at Bellamy United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P.O. 1417, Gloucester, Va. 23061.
