James Martin Witzenburg, 71, died Aug. 21, 2018 on his boat in Gloucester Point. He was a resident of Delaware, but he and his wife spent several months a year on their boat Troubador. James’ last career was as a professor at Hofstra University, New York. 

He is survived by his wife, Mollie Childs; son, Stefan Witzenburg (Elisa) and their children, Solia and Tea of Long Island, New York; son, Christopher Witzenburg (Tara); grandchildren, Isabel, Hunter, Levi, Hayden, Hazel and Silas, of Upstate New York.

The family will celebrate Jim’s life in a private ceremony on Long Island Sound.

In his memory, contributions may be given to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 267, Hayes, Va. 23072.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home and Crematory, Gloucester Point.
