JAMES LAWSON HALL

James Lawson Hall, 87, of Achilles, died May 22, 2013 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.

James served in the U.S. Army, was a member of Union Baptist Church, and retired in 1982 from the Ordnance Department, Naval Weapons Station, as a Supervisor.

He was a lover of nature and enjoyed hunting, boating and being on the water. James was a master gardener, planting a big garden with lots of vegetable to share with family and friends. He was wonderful to his family and enjoyed all his grandchildren. He will be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra F. Browning; parents, Hiram and Gertrude Hall; sister, Dorothy Walker, and brother, Kenneth Hall.

He is survived by his wife, Edna F. Hall; daughter, Debra K. Tarran and husband John; sons, James L. Hall and wife LouAnne, and Rickey Hall and wife Vickie; grandchildren, James L. Hall Jr., Deserie Arangio, Stephanie Kiser, Jason Kiser, Rickey Hall Jr. and Megan Hall; great-grandchildren, Dustyn, Zachary, Madelynn, Arabella, Gabrielle and Kirk, and brother, Thomas E. Hall.

Funeral service conducted by the Rev. Thomas Bunting was held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family received friends Saturday, May 25, 2013, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
