James Kenneth Hatch Jr., 68, of Gloucester, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 30, 2012, at his home surrounded by family.
Jimmy came into this world on March 14, 1944 and spent the majority of his life in Gloucester County. He was a lifelong sportsman and enjoyed spending time with his many friends and family. Jimmy was a musician for many years, played in a bluegrass band, and continued his love of music until his passing.
Jimmy had a love of flying that he turned into his occupation. He worked as a fish spotter for many years and eventually retired as a Captain for Continental Airlines.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth James Hatch Sr. and Annie Thomas Hatch.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Hatch; son, Richard Todd Hatch and his wife Crystal; daughter, Christie Hatch Jones and her spouse Michael; grandchildren, Phoebe Hatch, Samuel Hatch and Alice Jones; brother, Danny Hatch, and sister, Neva Hodges.
The family received friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Andrews Funeral Home, 7192 Main Street, Gloucester, Va. 23061.
Funeral services were held at Ebenezer Baptist Church at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, with interment immediately following.
