James “Jimmy” Edward Powell Sr., age 77, of Gloucester, passed away after a brief battle with cancer, on Sunday, September 21, 2025. He was born on June 11, 1948 to the late Alexander Clifton Powell Sr. and Mamie Anne Stubblefield Powell. Jimmy worked in construction for several years. He then worked for Edward Hogge at Holiday Marina. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother, Cliff, and daughter, Pamela. He is survived by his son, James Edward Powell Jr.; four siblings, John Powell (Violet), Ann Gentry (Steve), Belinda Hicks (Brian), and Joseph Powell (Debbie).
