James (Jim) Peter Devereux, 78, of Gloucester, died on Aug. 11, 2022.

He was born in Dublin, Ireland, and attended University College of Dublin and then medical school with St. Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin. He did residency training in the United States and worked 20 years as an orthopedic surgeon at Norfolk General Hospital, then worked in various other fields for 15 years.

Survivors include siblings, Anne Cummins and David Devereux, both of Dublin, and Mary Devereux of London, England.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary Devereux, and sister, Jane Devereux.
A private celebration of his life will be held on Sept. 3.
