James Iredell Jones Jr., “J.J./Jimmy,” of Gloucester, passed away Jan. 5, 2018 at the age of 69. 

He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a lifelong mechanic with an extreme love for drag racing, an avid outdoorsman with a passion for fishing, and a member of the Colonial Shag Club.

He is survived by his wife Kimberly of 35 years. His children: Amy, Danny (Mary), Charlie, James “Sticky” and Jenny; three grandsons: Braxton, Breck and Bridger; two brothers, Allen and Brian Whitaker. 

The family will have a Celebration of Life on Jan. 27, 2018 from 5-9 p.m. at the American Legion building, Gloucester.
