JAMES HARRIS HOLLAND

James Harris Holland, 89, of Gloucester, died Oct. 7, 2012 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.

James was a member of Grafton Christian Church, and a veteran of the U.S. Army where he received the Asiatic-Pacific Medal with two Stars and the Philippine Liberation Medal with a Star. He was the founder of Stagecoach Markets and Antique Village, Gloucester.

James was an innovated builder and master brick mason. He enjoyed people, and at the Stagecoach he became friends with everyone he met. A handshake and his word were his bond. James was always caring and devoted to his family and they will miss him.

He is survived by children, Gary Holland, Vicky Montange and husband Steven, Mike Holland and fiancée Sindee Ciner, Randy Holland and wife Holli; grandchildren, Stephanie Mitchell, Bonnie Bates, Matthew Scherer, Randy L. Holland Jr., Zach James Holland, Amelia Holland, Daniel Gipple Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Trey and Owen Bates; two nephews and a niece.

A Celebration of Life Service, conducted by the Rev. John Falk, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at Grafton Christian Church, 109 Brick Church Road, Yorktown. Inurnment will follow with military honors in the church cemetery.
