James Gregory “Greg” Jenkins of Hayes, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017, at the age of 41.

Greg followed in the footsteps of his father and other family, working on the water making his living from the harvest of the river.

He was an avid Yankees and Redskins fan. Greg was a simple young man who enjoyed the simpler things of life. He was happiest when he was with family and friends. He will be missed greatly by so many.

He was preceded in death by his father, James E. “Frog” Jenkins.

He is survived by his mother, Angela Lett Jenkins; maternal grandmother, Gloria Ann Lett; significant other, Arica “Baby Duck” Saunders and her daughter, Kaitlyn Saunders; sister, Tina Jenkins Tomlin and husband Jody; special nieces, Kaitlyn and Kamryn Tomlin, and a host of other family and friends.

A celebration of life conducted by the Rev. Margaret Louden was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. The family greeted friends prior to the service on Wednesday beginning at 1:30.

In memory of Greg, the family desires contributions be given to Riverside Walter Reed Hospice, 7358 Main Street, Gloucester, Va. 23061.
