JAMES EDWARD TRAVENSKI

James Edward Travenski, 101, of Hallieford, Virginia, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Friday, March 29, 2024. Jim was born in Sampson, Wisconsin, on May 17, 1922. After high school, Jim enlisted with the U.S. Army and served during the WWII and Korean War before he retired in December 1963. After retirement, he then sought a career as a Postman for 15 years with the U.S. Postal Service. Jim loved the outdoors, gardening and fishing. He was passionate about woodworking and making toys for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins, Green Bay Packers and the Atlanta Braves.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Roger, and daughter, Patty.

Jim “Pa” is survived by Gloria Travenski, his wife of 72 loving years; a son, Scott Travenski (Suzanne); a daughter, Gail Davis (Jimmy), and numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A visitation and funeral service will be held at the family’s home at a later date. A very special thank-you to Sara Travenski for all of her love and care.
