James E. White Sr., 92, of Gloucester, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. He was a long-time resident of Gloucester and was born in the Susan community of Mathews County.
Survivors include his wife, Florene C. White; three sons, James Jr., Raynard, and Dwane; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He graduated from Thomas Hunter High School in Mathews and was the Sergeant at Arms of his class. He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding, was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a business owner.
Funeral service will be at Bethel Baptist Church, Gloucester, on Saturday, June 21, with a viewing at 10 a.m. and service starting at 11 o’clock.
Forrest Brothers Funeral Home, Hudgins, is in charge of arrangements.
