JAMES E. ‘JIMMY’ MARSHALL JR.

James E. “Jimmy” Marshall Jr. of Gloucester Point, died at his home March 18, 2018.

Jimmy was a native of Richmond but had resided in Gloucester for a number of years. He was a veteran of the Navy and retired from Chewning and Wilmer Corporation as Vice President. Jimmy was a member of the Masonic Lodge #14 AF & AM and Gloucester Point Baptist Church. Jimmy loved playing golf, gardening and going out in the river fishing. Another love he had was for work and people. He always took time for people and made many friends during his lifetime. He will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. Marshall Sr. and Sarah Smith Marshall.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce W. Marshall; son, James E. Marshall III and wife Tracy; daughter, Elizabeth Marshall Feran; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service, conducted by the Rev. Bud Goude and the Rev. Richard Whiteheart, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2018, at Gloucester Point Baptist Church. Inurnment will be private. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 10-11 at the church.
