James David Givens, 70, of Mattaponi, passed away April 7, 2018. He was born Sept. 1, 1947 to James Oscar and Ruth Jobe Givens.

James was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Robert Givens, and daughter, Sabra Raychelle Raulston.

He is survived by a sister, Suzanne Richey Cooper; a son, Chad Aaron Nelson and his wife Jennifer Wouters of London, Ontario, Canada; a daughter, Amanda Elizabeth Combs and her husband Brian Combs of Mattaponi; grandchildren, Mary-Kathryn Colleen Raulston, PFC Brenden Mason Eller Raulston and his wife Emily Raulston, Benjamin Parker Combs and Bailey Elizabeth Combs, and special friends, Martha and Terry, Billy and Sabrina and Joe O’Connell.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 11 at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th Street, West Point, Va. 23181.
