James Arnold Hudgins of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on Dec. 9, 2016 at the age of 68.

He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Birmingham. James was a Vietnam veteran and served in the Navy Seabees. He retired from the Panama Canal as a captain of the dredge Mindi.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Hudgins of Mathews; mother, and brother.

He is survived by his wife, Estrella Hudgins; his stepmother, Rose Hudgins; sons, David and Daniel; daughters, Maria Bohannon (Chad), Maria Jose Rivera (Andy), and grandchildren, Gabriel, Sebastian, Gauge, Adrian, Jacob and Dylan James.

A funeral mass was held Dec. 22, 2016, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Entombment was in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South, Hoover, Alabama.
