James Allen Nickels, age 52, of Gloucester, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022, with his family by his side. James was born on April 24, 1970, to Ryburn “Nick” and Sue Wise Nickels. James worked as a maintenance supervisor for Weinstein Properties and in his free time, loved to go fishing, shooting, driving around in his favorite car, going to the mountains, but most of all, spending time with his family and his beloved grandbabies. He was a good pawpaw. James is survived by his wife, Sherri; children, Ashley Nickels, Josh Nickels (Chrissy), and Chase Nickels (Kristen); grandchildren, Lola, Keagan, Caleb, Miles, and one on the way, Baby Girl Nickels. Sisters, Terri Cockey, Beverly Kashen, and Pamela Nickels also survive him. The family will receive friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, from 6-7:30 p.m. The inurnment will be private. Services under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home & Crematory.
