JAMES A. HOFMANN JR.

James A. Hofmann Jr., age 31, of Gloucester, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021, due to a short span, lasting one week, of the COVID-19 virus. James was born on April 6, 1990 in the Commonwealth of Virginia, graduated from Gloucester High School with the class of 2008, and he was employed with 2nd Street Floors by Mark. James was a true angel during the time he walked the earth. He had countless friends, and made new friends, wherever he went; an extremely humble man with a heart of gold, he believed in the good of people and would help any person at any time.

His work ethic was strong, and many said he was the hardest worker they ever met; however, the one thing that stands out, “he always showed up.” James loved animals, the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and deep-sea fishing. He leaves behind his parents, Jim and Brenda Hofmann; his brother and best friend, Sam; grandmother; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; great-nieces and his family dogs, “Tank” and “Dozer.” Services will be private due to Covid-19.

We would like to thank Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department and Fire Department; special friends Mark, Edmon, Gary, Paul, Kyle and Luke. In memory of our loved one please consider contributions to the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, P.O. Box 385, Gloucester, Va. 23061. His legacy will be remembered as a real hometown young man who loved family, being at home, his friends and his motto: “forgive and forgive quickly, do right rather than be right.”
Services under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home.
