Jae Sinnett Trio performance rescheduled after storm

After riding out September’s tropical storm Ophelia, Jae Sinnett will bring his acclaimed jazz trio to Good Luck Cellars on Sunday, Nov. 19, for a performance from 2-4 p.m. Originally set to play at the Lancaster Playhouse in White Stone, Sinnett (on the drums) will play with pianist Weldon Hill and bassist Terry Burrell at the Kilmarnock winery, located at 1025 Goodluck Road.

Known as a consummate drummer, Sinnet is also a composer, music educator and bandleader who has produced 19 albums and written over 250 compositions. His work ranges from soul jazz to straight ahead swingin’ to fusion, mixing funk, blues, rock, soul and jazz. Sinnet has performed with a who’s who of jazz greats over the years, including Branford and Ellis Marsalis, Joe Henderson, Freddie Hubbard, Chuck Mangione, Charlie Byrd and Herb Ellis. When he is not performing with his trio, he can be found hosting the popular jazz show Sinnett in Session on WHRV-FM 89.5, public radio for Eastern Virginia (9 p.m.-1 a.m. Monday-Thursday, 1-5 a.m. Saturday, 1-5 p.m. Sunday). He also produces “The R&B Chronicles” (7-8 p.m. Friday).

Tickets to the original Sept. 23 show will be honored. A limited number of tickets ($30) are still available at 804-438-5555.
