JACQUELINE ‘JACKIE’ LEE DELROSSO

Jacqueline “Jackie” Lee DelRosso, 82, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Jackie was born in Richmond but raised in Mobjack, she nestled in the Onemo community most of her adult life but was able to mix a little farm living in Maine and a stretch with her daughter in Alaska. Jackie worked many years as a data entry clerk for Fort Eustis before retiring. She was a graduate of Mathews High School and had remained close friends with her classmates of 1960. In her young adult life she enjoyed playing softball, was an avid reader, and an amazing cook and seamstress, later taking on the art of quilting. Jackie was known for her love of animals. She adopted and cared for many dogs and cats throughout her adult life and gave them a loving home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Edwin Jackson and Avie Christine Wilkerson, and her sister, Helen “Edwina” Casey.

She is survived by her daughter, Heather Christine Smith of Anchorage, Alaska; a son, Allyn Hugh Hutchinson of Taos, New Mexico; two sisters, Dottie Henderson of Yorktown, Va., and Mary Jenkins of Gloucester, Va.; a brother, Gerald “Pal” Wayne Jackson of Mobjack, Va., and many nieces and nephews.

While no formal services are to be planned, please keep the memory of Jackie’s life in your hearts.
