IRIS VIRGINIA KING JOHNSON

Iris Virginia King Johnson passed away on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012.

Born in Gloucester and a resident of Woodbridge, Va., she spent most of her life in Northern Virginia. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Johnson; father, Hayes King Jr., and brother, Aubrey King. 

She graduated from T.C. Walker and attended Virginia State University. She worked for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, and was a member of Shepherdsville Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish fond memories her daughter, Katrina Johnson King; her son-in-law, Darren King; grandchildren, Michael, Jonathan and Makayla; her mother, Catherine; her siblings, Cornelious “Bubba,” Yvonne Booker; dear friend, Otis Perry; sister-in-law, Eva King; niece, Lynette King; nephews, Aubrohn and Anthony King; great-nephews, Nathan King, Christian King, Joylynn King; cousins, and many other loved relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Fred Carter at Shepherdsville Baptist Church, 8729 Fary’s Mill Road, Ark, Va. 23061 at 12 noon on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012. Mrs. Johnson will lie in state Friday evening from 6-8 o’clock at Shepherdsville Baptist Church. 

The services of dignity and respect will be provided by the staff of Carter Funeral Home, 251 Richneck Road, Newport News, Va. 23608.
