Ingram, Cole to lead Mathews board in 2014

The Mathews County Board of Supervisors held its annual organizational meeting last Wednesday, electing Charles Ingram as chairman and O.J. Cole as vice chair for 2014.

 

County administrator Mindy Moran and assistant to the county administrator Julie Kaylor were once again appointed as clerk and deputy clerk, respectively.

 

Meetings will be held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. except for March 25, June 24 and Sept. 23, when they will be held at 7 p.m. In addition, the last two meetings of the year will be held at 1 p.m. on the third Tuesday.

 

The board changed its bylaws to reflect its new policy regarding consultations with the county attorney. In the past, the county attorney attended board of supervisors’ meetings and offered advice on such matters as interpretation of the bylaws.
