Info session Nov. 7 for shoreline property owners

The Gloucester County Environmental Programs Department will hold an information session regarding wetlands from 4-7 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Gloucester Library, Main Street Center.

Environmental programs administrator Scott Rae said the session is targeted to shoreline property owners. Several speakers will provide information regarding property improvements along Gloucester’s tidally-situated rivers, creeks and marshes.

Alicia Riley and Keith Goodwin of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will address pier permitting relative to navigational channels and lighting, Rae said. Chip Neikirk of the Virginia Marine Resources Commission will talk about the permitting of piers relative to cumulative area of "L" and "T" heads as well as boathouse criteria.

Rae said members of his staff will speak about the permitting process, and the joint permit applications, including inspector Ron Owens and permit technician Linda Walthall
