In Gloucester

More than 300 seniors will graduate from Gloucester High School Saturday in the school’s 70th annual commencement exercises. The 2023 commencement ceremony begins at 9 a.m. and will again take place at “Dukes Stadium,” the school’s athletic field.

This year’s valedictorian and salutatorian are Wilton “Braden” Hudgins and Ainslee Brown, respectively.

The GHS Combined Band will play while the Class of 2023 and faculty march to their seats. Danni Knott will lead those in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance. The National Anthem, Alma Mater and Senior Music, “Until We Meet Again,” will be performed by key senior chorus members.

Welcoming remarks will be given by GHS principal Dr. Stefan Mygas. Duke of the Year Joel Junker will give his remarks to the assembled crowd.

Senior Kayly Jacobs and Junior Andrew Carter will take to the stage for the transfer of the senior class insignia to the Class of 2024.
