Letter: I’m in it to win it. How about you?

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Everyone who reads this is familiar with pain. Whether an illness that gives stomach cramps and nausea of hitting your thumb with a hammer. I doubt anyone reading this would wish pain on a little child.

But though we would not wish pain on our little ones, we sometimes seem to ignore prevention. Although these two issues are not the same, they are most certainly first cousins. Hate is not the opposite of love; apathy is.

I hate to keep hounding the public for money, but until a cure is found to keep children from suffering from cancer, and the present cure (chemo, radiation), not to mention the suffering of parents who have to watch helplessly as their children suffer and agonize over the prospect of losing them, I will keep begging. At this point, I have no other option.
