Ideal weather graces this year’s Garden Week tour

Visitors to Saturday’s Historic Garden Week tour sponsored by the Garden Club of Gloucester enjoyed some of the best weather the coordinators could ever remember during the time they have been hosting the event.

"It was a fantastic day," tour chair Tish Grant said. "The weather certainly cooperated and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time … I can’t remember a day better than that one."

Though she said no estimate has been determined on the number of people who attended the four homes in Mathews, attendance was up from recent tours. "We had a very good crowd," Grant added.

She said no major issues were reported during the tour, except maybe that the shuttle buses took a bit long to load and unload visitors.
