To the voters of Mathews County: As I got quite a complimentary vote four years ago for Treasurer I have concluded to be a candidate again for the same office. In the past campaign I did not use any ardent spirits nor did I resort to any political trickery to get votes. I shall conduct this campaign upon the same principles. I would rather be defeated honestly than to be elected dishonestly, and I again appeal to the masses for their support in the coming election. I shall as often as I can be spared from my farm work mingle among my county men. Yours respectfully, N.E. Miller
