Hustle Souls will perform a blend of Retro-Soul, Brass Band Funk, and Singer-Songwriter Americana tunes during a concert at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, at Flat Iron Crossroads, 7709 Flat Iron Road, Gloucester. Based in Asheville, North Carolina, Hustle Souls has been lauded by American Blues Scene as a “generation-jumping mashup of new school second line funk with old school vintage soul.” The quintet features a B3 organ and brass, along with three-part vocal harmonies and a passion for songwriting, said a press release. Aldora Britain Records praised the group’s music as “worthy of being included in that brilliant soul music canon.” The band has performed widely and featured on such major festival lineups as Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion, the Ramble Festival, and Shakori Hills Grassroots Music Festival.
