A funeral for Hugh S. Soles, 77, of Saluda, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17 in Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda. He died Sept. 13, 2015.

He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Gloucester, and the former owner and operator of Hugh S. Soles Excavating, Inc.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Christine Soles,and by his brother, Roy.

Survivors include his wife, Alverda Hazzard Soles; daughters, Joyce A. Soles and Julie C. Soles; sister, Jeanette S. Holt.

The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery, Shanghai.
