Hudgins, Osborne, ’87 golf team to be inducted into GHS Hall of Fame

Gloucester High School Athletic Director Kristy Hunter has announced the 2017 class of inductees into the GHS Athletic Hall of Fame. The new members will be inducted on Sept. 22. 

The new inductees include Bill Hudgins, who has been a sponsor of local athletics for over 30 years. They also include Jaleesa Osborne, a 2006 GHS graduate and a standout athlete in basketball and track and field. 

The inductees also include the 1987 state champion golf team members. The GHS 1987 team of Chris DuPaul, Chris Denton, Brian Sterling, Tommy Healy, Stephen Smith, Robert Teagle, Rob Baldwin, Mark South, Ashley Long, Steelman Ketchum, Tyler Johnson, Joe Sibley and Glenn Kaylor was coached by Jerry Morgan and won the state Group AA championship.

A public reception for the new members will be held at 5:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22 in the GHS Duke Rock Café. The induction will take place during halftime of the home football game with Denbigh that evening. The game begins at 7 o’cl...
