Howard Thomas Berry, 59, of Yorktown, Va., died peacefully at home, family at his side, on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Howard was a native of Gloucester County, graduating from Gloucester High School and Christopher Newport College. He had a distinguished career as a Senior Planner with VHB, Inc.

Howard was preceded in death by his daughter, Lauren.

Howard is survived by his father and mother, Howard Clements and Vernelle Berry; his beloved wife of 25 years, Jenny Berry; two sons, Justin Harrison Berry and Michael Paul Blarek; two grandchildren, Zachary Michael and Mikayla Lauren Kemp-Berry; and brother, Donald W. Berry and wife Vickie. Howard is also survived by two nephews, Matthew and Devin Berry. He will be missed by his faithful companion “Faith.”

Graveside funeral services conducted by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. Friends assembled at the cemetery. The family received friends Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
