Houston hits for cycle, leads Deltas over Pirates

Deltaville Deltas outfielder Jacob Houston accomplished a rare feat Saturday night. The rising CNU senior and Gloucester High School alumnus hit for the cycle—a single, double, triple and home run in the same game—leading the Deltas past the Peninsula Pirates on Saturday night, 9-0.

The Pirates split the series on Sunday, as the Deltas could only manage to scatter five hits, in a 3-1 game.

The split moves the Deltas to 4-3 on the season, a half-game behind the league leading Newport News Cardinals (4-2). The Deltas will play host to the Cardinals on Saturday night in a 7:30 p.m. game at Deltaville Ballpark, and will travel on Sunday to Kecoughtan High School for a 4 p.m. matchup.
