Ruthie Richardson, above, opened Ruthie’s House of Flowers in 1987 in Gloucester Court House in a shop that formerly housed Watkins Florist, located off the Court Circle and operated by Harriet Lemon Watkins. Ruthie’s House of Flowers later moved to a shop across Route 17 from Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.
